Mediterranean Temporary Ponds are one of the most extraordinary habitats in the Mediterranean region. This guide aims to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about these fragile habitats and the species present in them, thereby helping their long-term conservation.

The guide is divided into three main chapters (introduction, flora and fauna) and aims to disseminate the most characteristic and emblematic species of this habitat. Some of the species that occur here, namely of plants, amphibians and freshwater crustaceans, are rare, very small distribution, endemic or protected.
