> The Project was represented by the University of Évora team in Sassari, Sardinia, where an International Symposium was held specifically related to the effective conservation of the Mediterranean Temporary Ponds

In April (2016) on the 15th, 16th and 17th, the International Symposium on Mediterranean Temporary Ponds was held in Sardinia, where LIFE Charcos was represented by the University of Évora team.
This meeting allowed a large group of people, including researchers, students, policy makers and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, experiences and information on ecology, biodiversity and habitat management that is present in various parts of the world, including in those that enjoy mediterranean climates. The main objective was to promote effective conservation and improve the sensitivity of the general public.
In this way, it was also a great opportunity for LIFE Charcos to present and disseminate some of their preliminary results already obtained. In total, the University of Évora team presented an oral communication and three posters.

The oral communication focused on preliminary results of the action that aims to establish criteria for assessing the conservation status of temporary ponds. The posters were from the results obtained under the LIFE Charcos Project but complemented by other works prior to the project, taking advantage of the fact that this habitat has already been studied by some researchers at University of Évora, thus giving more robustness to the project.
