"Temporary Ponds: a natural habitat to be protected!"

Senior University learned about LIFE Charcos project

> Students from the Senior University in Castro Verde had the opportunity to get to know the project

Last Friday (April 10th, 2015) the LIFE Charcos team project went to the senior university in Castro Verde. Within "a day with Nature", these students got to know the project, the intervention area, the habitat in question, associated biodiversity, threats and planned actions.

The temporary ponds also exist outside the Site of Community Interest area in the southwest coast of Portugal and its ecological value does not decrease with the location. On the contrary, all are very important for biodiversity conservation but, ultimately, it will be easier to conserve those within protected areas.

Due to the enthusiasm of the students, was recorded intention to visit this habitat as ephemeral, unique and threatened as it is in the southwest coast.
