Public Closure Session of LIFE Charcos Project

Find out about the results achieved by the LIFE Charcos Project and its contribution to the conservation of a priority habitat, Mediterranean Temporary Ponds (Habitats Directive priority habitat 3170*) at the Community Importance Site of the Southwest Coast of Portugal.
Ongoing since july 2013, the LIFE + Project "Conservation of Temporary Ponds on the Southwest Coast of Portugal" (LIFE12NAT / PT / 997) is coordinated by the League for the Protection of Nature and has University of Algarve, University of Évora, the Municipality of Odemira and the Association of Beneficiaries of Mira has parteners, which is now reaching to its conclusion at the end of September.
This project has made an important contribution to the conservation of this priority habitat and to the implementation of the Natura 2000 Network (European Network of Natural Spaces) and the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2020.
