Field trip to Vila do Bispo
One of the main goals of the LIFE Charcos Project is the conservation and restoration of Mediterranean Temporary Ponds in its intervention area, which overlaps the Natural Park of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast (PNSACV in Portuguese), in the southwestern region of Portugal.
In Vila do Bispo county and Sagres region, we can find some well-preserved temporary ponds, and also some of those that were submitted to restoration by the Project. Our visit to this region aims to show some of the project interventions.
During the visit we observed characteristic flora and fauna from these fragile freshwater systems, and also experience some of the most beautiful landscape in Portugal. We had walking trips and time for picnic.
