When performed in an extensive manner grazing has positive effects on the MTP's. The cattle eliminates species that compete with the typical pond flora and creates micro-depressions in the soil, which are vital for the germination and development of some flora species. On the other hand, ceasing or overgrazing may have very negative effects on this kind of temporary habitat, since they obstruct natural development of the autochthonous flora, threatening the natural succession of flora communities, and favour ruderal species.
