"Temporary Ponds: a natural habitat to be protected!"

Changes in agricultural and livestock practices

> Permanent reservoirs

As a way of taking advantage from the high soaking level of the land, some farmers have chosen to deepen and widen the MTP area, in order to have a permanent water reservoir (pool). This deepening causes profound alterations in the vegetal and animal communities, since it results in the colonization of exclusively aquatic species, inducing a gradual disappearance of many characteristic species of temporary ponds. This alteration represents an irreversible destruction of the habitat.
