"Temporary Ponds: a natural habitat to be protected!"

The LIFE Charcos project is being presented to the general public

LIFE Charcos team has been invited to participate in several events about nature conservancy to promote the conservation on temporary ponds in the southwest coast of Portugal and raise awareness of the conservation of this fragile and threatened habitat.


It happened in JORTEC - Technology Days of the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon, where on 12th February 2015 the topic was presented by Artur Lagartinho in FCT campus in Costa da Caparica. The public was students and not FCT students in order to show that best is done in Portugal regarding the technology and environment.


On 21st March, 2015 the LIFE charcos project was also presented at RIAS, Recovery Center and Wildlife Research, which hosted another edition of Introductory Course to the identification of Reptiles and Amphibians at Casa João Lúcio / Ecoteca of Olhão. In this session it was discussed issues related to the conservation of wetlands and their threats.
